G-Wood Hustles
Hey all, this week we are getting going with a simple process. But we need to cover simple as well as advanced for all levels of learning. The information in this issue may seem simple, but I remember that it blew my mind the first time I really understood it.
These tips are absolutely essential to understand if you are going to build a successful business on Amazon. They are some fundamental principles that must be understood. So, whether you have been selling for some time, or are just getting started, it is beneficial information to review. Plus, there may be some other tips you haven’t seen before!
We are diving into Keepa. If you aren’t familiar with Keepa, it is the single most valuable tool you will use as an Amazon seller. If you don’t yet use it, you can check it out here.
Make sure you read to the end. I found you a deal you DON’T WANT TO MISS!!!
Tip #1
1) Sales Rank Graph: “Teeth = Sales”
The sales rank graph is the money graph. You’re looking for a sawtooth pattern: the line drops frequently (sales happen), then slowly climbs (time between sales).

✅ BUY: Lots of drops, week after week

⚠️ MAYBE: Drops happen, but not often

❌ PASS: Mostly flat line, rare drops

2) Price History: “Stable Beats Spikes”
Now check price history. You’re asking: does the price hold… or does it collapse whenever sellers show up?

✅ BUY: Price is steady / predictable.

⚠️ MAYBE: Price swings, but stays above your breakeven most of the time.

❌ PASS: The chart shows it started near $20, tanked all the way to $6.
Tip #3
3) Offer Count / Seller Count: “Crowding Predicts Price Drops”
This is the easiest way to spot a listing getting dogpiled. More sellers means more supply for the same demand, usually resulting in lower prices as frustrated sellers try to move inventory.

✅ BUY: Offer count is stable or slowly rising

⚠️ MAYBE: Offer count spikes seasonally but comes back down

❌ PASS: Offer count jumps fast and price drops right after
Tip #4
4) Offer Price History
As a bonus tip, you can see if the item is selling at a price above the buy box. Simply click into the “Data” tab, then “Offers” There you will see the price history for each seller on the listing, as well as how their stock has moved in the last 30 days, or all time.
This is not guaranteed sales, as the drop in available inventory can also be explained by moving inventory between warehouses (not uncommon). Look for a gradual drop in inventory (just a few per day) rather than a sudden drop by 50 units.
Then compare their price history chart. If they are selling when the price is up, that is a good sign that you may also be able to increase your price over the buy box and turn extra profit, or add an ASIN you would have said no to at the current buy box price.
My 10-Second Aisle Checklist (Quick Rules)
Fast YES:
Rank has teeth (frequent drops)
Price is stable
Seller count isn’t exploding
Fast NO:
No rank drops (flat line)
No sales at a profitable level
Lots of sellers are jumping on while driving the price down.
(Maybe mark it to check again in a few months)
Quantity rule:
If it mostly looks good but sellers are rising: buy 1–2 first, not 10.
When testing a new ASIN, DON’T CLEAR THE SHELF! Only buy what you believe you will realistically sell within a month and adjust after you make some sales.
BIG DEAL!!!
If you are searching in the store, you may find it difficult or cumbersome to keep switching between the Seller app and Keepa. Instead, you could use Scoutify 2. It is part of an entire suite of apps that make your life easier as an Amazon seller, including Inventory Lab and Tactical Arbitrage. And for the rest of the year, you can get 25% off your first 3 months if you sign up with THIS LINK. If you are serious about your Amazon business, snag this deal while you can. You’ll thank me later!
I hope you found this information helpful. If you want to see this in action, go look at my YouTube sourcing tutorial HERE.
And if you are not using Keepa yet, don’t wait. It is essential to learn it and use it if you are serious about growing your Amazon business. Go check it out here.
Until next week,
